|
|
I have a problem with trial version (unregistered) of Cam2PC (V. 4.5.1)
When transferring images from my Canon D20, it errors on every raw file giving the following message:
\"an error occured during the transfer of file filename.CR2. Do you want to continue the transfer?\".
This is inconvenient and I have concern about the intergrity of the data.
The awful Canon utility does not produce errors. Transfer direct from the CF card using a card reader also works without any problems.
I have 23 days left of the evaluation and would like a fix in time to be pleased enough to buy the product
Please advise. |

I also have the exact same problem when using cam2pc for my EOS 20d. It makes the download very slow as I have to sit and click each error, not very handy when pulling 50 or so images from the camera. Using a card reader does not seem to have the same problems, although it would be better to use this software with the camera.
I hesitate on making any purchases unless this can be corrected.
Thanks. |

| I started getting this when I got the Rebel XT 350D. The original Rebel 300D worked fine. Cam2PC has a hard time with the new CR2 raw format. |

Sorry but there is no way I can deliver a fix for this as I do not have access to this range of cameras.

I could provide you with a copy of the file system with some RAW images if that would help.
I noticed a few other odd things ocuring. The raw images were not visible from Explorer and the Canon software after using Cam2PC. However Cam2PC was able to detect them and download them with the error dialogs. It looks like something got corrupted when Cam2PC accessed the camera with CR2 images.
Are you in South Florida? I\'d be willing to lend the camera for a few days.
Canon should dump ZoomBrowser (one of the worst pieces of software ever written) and replace it with cam2pc and give you all the free cameras you want . |

I have just upgraded from the 300D to a 350D and my beloved Cam2PC can't handle the .cr2 files. The thumbnails display correctly but the images won't open. I understand that you don't have access to a 350D but is there anything else we can do to help fix this? Email a .CR2 file?
Cam2PC is a really great piece of software I didn't realise how much I liked it until I couldn't use it anymore...
Adobe can't handle the .cr2 files the 350D produces, nor can the new Pixmantec Rawshooter. As far as I know only the bundled Canon software, BreezeBrowser and Bibble can do it. You can really get ahead of the big players by getting support into Cam2PC first... |

Oops sorry, they just released v1.1 of Rawshooter with support for the 350D. It is not 10% as useful as Cam2PC though |

Hello,
CR2 support has already been tested for the 20-D and the 1-D Mark II. Please send me some samples of CR2 files for other cameras at info at nabocorp dot com. This will allow me to fix viewing but not necessarily download.

Unfortunately the 350D whilst producing .CR2 files actually produces something different to the 20D.
Why it's different I don't know, same CCD same DIGIC II processor, Adobe's raw plug-in and it's DNG converter don't work with the .CR2 files produced by my 350D even though the 20D is listed as supported.
I have emailed a sample file to Nabocorp (I think they got it, I haven't had any response though). So hopefully they will be able to suss it out. |

I got the sample. Will try to release a 4.5.3 that will include support for it.

RawShooter Essentials is free for now, will be shareware in future, and handles CR2 editing from the 350D and 20D. The UI of that software leaves quite a bit to be desired but the results are good. |
