Installation

If you want to use other features or customize Mediastation, then right-click on the Mediastation tray icon and select Home (you can also double-click the icon for a faster access). Your favorite browser will display the Mediastation welcome page allowing you to access both the configuration screens and the HTML browser.

If you want to access the Mediastation HTML browser from another PC, click on Configure and look for the section called "Browser URL" in the Status tab. You will see two links:

  • Internal URL: this is the URL you will have to enter in the browser's address bar of computers located inside your home network.
  • External URL: this is the URL you will have to enter in the browser's address bar of computers located outside your home network.

Please note that in order to access Mediastation from outside your home network, your will need to open the relevant port in your router or firewall. This can easily be done on clicking the Open port button just under the external URL. Your router/firewall needs to support the UPnP IGD protocol for that. Please note that on some routers/firewalls, UPnP IGD must be manually enabled to allow programs to open ports for themselves. If you are unsure, click on the Test button: this will open a page on the Mediastation website that will tell you if your Mediastation installation is accessible from the outside world.

You can also check the detailed configuration options reference for further information.
