Pentax K10D (And, Or) Adobe DNG

Postby eddyimpact » Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:37 am

I just bought a Pentax K10D... It would be great to get support for .PEF, but it would seem keeping up with RAW formats is too much. Thank Goodness for Adobe DNG! Please support this standard.

My current release, 4.5.3, does something worse than not support DNG... it pulls the thumbnail out of the DNG, saves that to my hard drive as the DNG and then deletes the original off the camera card!

Are you aware of this?

No :(

Can you send me a sample DNG file so I can fix this? Please send it to info at nabocorp dot com.

Thanks!

Hello,

I just want to say, that the 4.5.3 Version works well with my Canon EOS 400D.

One think only, the image downloader does not preview my canon raw files.

Does anyone know if 4.5.3 has been \'officially\' released? The last mention I can see of it in the forums it was still Beta, and the History page of the website still lists 4.5.2 as the last version.

If it has been officially released, where can I download it?

No, it hasn't been officially released.

Hello,

a new 4.5.3 beta is available. Work has been done around Vista support. If no major bug is found, the 4.5.3 will be released as is.

There are problems with RAWs viewing in 4.5.3 (both betas):

1. Dark images are not decoded properly. Example:

Minolta RAW decoded by cam2pc
The same RAW decoded by RSE2006

2. Some RAWs are decoded not correctly if I browse my files faster than next file is cached. Examples:

Example 1
Example 2

It is not related to the RAW type. Here are Minolta MRW files only, but the same effect I have with CRW, NEF etc.

A new 4.5.3 beta has been uploaded. This should be the last beta and the final 4.5.3 should be released this week-end.

Hello,

handling Window's Vista security (UAC) proved to be a little tougher than expected. I'll try to do my best to have something working ASAP.

Ok,

Vista support required a lot of rework on the architecture of the application. Therefore I would rather that some of you download the 4.5.3 version I have just uploaded and use it a bit on your various OS (be it XP, 2000, Me or 98SE) before releasing this update to the masses. Please if you download it and you find it stable, post a message in this thread so I can know if I can release it or not. If you find bugs, this is of course the right place to report.

Hello,

the final version is ready. Decision has been made to name it 4.6.0, mainly due to technical reasons. It is currently available here but should be officially released soon.

From memory the list of changes are:
* Full support for Windows Vista
* SW: Enhanced RAW image decoding (more formats, faster)
* SW: Added creation of Simpleviewer galleries
* SW: Added upload to Zenphoto galleries
* DNG files are no longer corrupted at download time when fill EXIF is on
