Chance to recover images? Removed USB cable during transfer

Postby snoopy2000 » Sun Aug 06, 2006 1:26 pm

I did use Cam2PC version 4.33 to transfer some images from my Canon Ixus 430 to a computer with Windows XP Home. I made a mistake and removed the USB cable during the transfer.

The images are already deleted from the camera and they do not show up in the folder on my hard disc, in which Cam2PC normally stores my images.

Are the new images gone or is there a chance that I can find them somewhere in a temporary folder on the hard disc?

Thank you!

AFAIK cam2pc transfers the files one by one and deletes them afterwards. So if you removed the cable during transfer all pictures should still reside on the card. Maybe the filesystem is corrupted. Or you could undelete them.

Try to use one of the many card repair programs out there. For example:

Hello,

yes that's the way cam2pc works... You should look at the solution suggested.
