RAW image exposure is changed in browser

Postby JB » Mon Feb 20, 2006 7:54 pm

When viewing both the thumbnails and the full screen images of .CR2 raw files, the exposure has been changed by cam2pc. How to I stop cam2pc from affecting the exposure settings?

I am looking at images that I correctly exposed to show a grey card as ~128 grey. When viewed in the browser, the image appears as nearly white and the RGB values shown are near 255. I confirmed using both Photoshop and Canon DPP that the image was in fact exposed for middle grey.

Same problem happens with .NEF Nikon images as well. At first, the grey (RGB 128) image is displayed correctly as a thumbnail in the browser window. But, after opening to display it at full screen size, the image is displayed as white (RGB 255).
