Serious problem with crashing

Postby slurrey » Fri Feb 06, 2004 4:13 pm

Hi, I've just downloaded picsaver and I think it's a wickedly awesome screen saver.

However when I run it and leave it for a while, when I come back I always see an error message on the screen that it has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

I don't know what the problem might be, other than having a LOT of images in that folder!

I'm using windows XP, and have an AMD athlon xp 2500+ with 512 mb ram!

Do you know what the problem might be?
Thanks!

Same here!!

I used a windows xp auto update patch and I accidently ticked the "remove screensavers"

so I downloaded picsaver and its far better than the XP version

BUT IT CRASHES ALL THE TIME

PLEASE FIX IT!!

thank you :)

Yeah I get the same kind of error!
The screensaver cannot run for more than an hour or two without crashing, it's really weird.

My system specs are:

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
512 MB DDR ram
ATI AIW 7500 video card
Windows XP with SP1 and all windows updates.

Do yours match any of mine?

[edit] woop I forgot that I had already posted my spec heh!

I've introduced a few people to pic saver. I "needed" it because I'm using Windows 2000, but I also like it because of the short picture change time. Anyway, a friend of mine stated that he thought the lock-up, or crashing behavior was related to the use of black and white photographs. I see that someone has already posted a couple of black and white photos that they were using when they had problems. I'm not sure if the program is having trouble with black and white pictures in general, or whether it's related to the transitions. I haven't removed the black and white photos from my collection and will try turning off the transitions, to see if that helps.
