No MP3 Background music on slide shows

I have Windows 98SE. Selected options - viewer - slideshow - checked play sound box - selected MP3 song from hard drive - click ok - right click on image folder - select recursive slideshow - slideshow begins - DOES NOT PLAY ANY SELECTED MP3 MUSIC FILE - PLEASE HELP ME! Regards :cry:

Which version of Windows Media Player is installed on your machine? Can you play MP3 files in Windows Media Player (not through Winamp or Sonique or any other player)?

I had removed MS Media Player long ago. Currently using MusicMatch Jukebox. I shall re-install Media Player V7.1, as recommended for Windows 98 SE. That should solve the problem. Many thanks for the quick response and for your help. Cam2PC is a fantastic program, very small in size, but very large in functionality and performance. :lol:
