problem with ricoh r1v on w2k

I cannot download / list the pictures when using the cam2pc on w2k.
After starting the wizard/download cam2pc is hanging --> it´s also not possible to kill the pg. Portmon from sysinternals logs an access for the vcomm port.(driver is a converter usb - vcomm) It locks also when the wizard accessing the vcomm port from my pcmcia modem.
What can I do?
