Bug when setting owner under Xp sp2.

Postby Jonas » Tue Mar 08, 2005 10:27 pm

I have noticed a strange thing which probably is a bug in 4.5.1
I´m running win xp sp2 with 2 users (me and the wife), thought it first was a xp problem, but seems like cam2pc does not set whos the owner of files when transfered from camera to pc. I have to manually take ownership and set the file permissions for both users. The user who has transfered the files has no problem in viewing or editing the photos but the otherone can\'t, and wise versa. I have tried to set the users to superuser but with no effect. Works fine after i have set the permissions manually. I have all photos under Shared Pictures, so every user should have read and write access.

Regards Jonas.

Hi. i have noticed the same issue.
Using both cam2pc 4.5.2 and 4.6.1 freeware version.
I am doing loading pictures from a Lumix DMC-LZ7.
Any pictures that are downloaded by cam2pc and rotated by checking off the \'Transform images based on EXIF orientation tag\' have the permission reset so that the system and the user that downloaded the pictures have full control and all other permissions are removed.
pictures downloaded into the same folder at the same time (by cam2pc), but not rotated, do not the permissions reset.
