When making web galleries I enable slideshow generation but when I display the end product in a browser the slideshow does not work. The instructions suggest I need java. I have downloaded from the sun site now what happens? What do I do to get it to work?

Slideshow doesn't use Java but Javascript.

So you only have to be sure that Javascript is supported by your browser (I can't imagine that Javascript is not supported ;-) ), and the most important, activated.

No, I don't talk about Java (from Sun) but about Javascript !!!

As 90% of people arround the world, I imagine that you're using Internet Explorer from Microsoft (it's your choice, for my side, I use Mozilla).
So in IE, you go to Tools \ Internet Options \ Tab Security and you choose the icon "Internet", then you click on "parameter the level" and in the window, you have to find "Script of Java applets" that you have to activate and also "Active scripting".
