Mousespeed problems in cam2pc

Postby Golfareninsweden » Tue Nov 09, 2004 11:09 am

Hello!

First of all great software. I'm a happy buyer.

No to my problem.

Every time i start cam2pc the mouse speed is down by 50%.
I can't find anything in the options menu about this.

I have the same problem on several computers and OS(win2000, XP)

This is the only program that i've discovered this bug/feature.

The mouse is a Logitech and driver is logitech's aswell

Regards

Christian

Hello,

not much I can do about this. For sure, cam2pc does not alter any mouse settings and you are the first person to report this bug.

Sorry,

Hi,

Did you try to uninstall the Logitech mousedriver?
I have seen this kind of problem in other software (not cam2pc) and the Logitech driver was the reason.
The Logitech mouse works fine without a special driver in Windows XP.
Updating to the lastet driver may also be advisable (if you did not do this allready).

Don't be sorry :) I just report.

The strange thing is that it is just cam2pc that I see this problem, no other program, and i test many programs, has this problem. :?

I shall test to uninstall the Logitech driver.

Is there a debug option in cam2pc to see what's happening so you can get more information from me?

More info later

Cheers

I've uninstalled the Logitech driver from my work computer and tested, it worked no problem with reduced mousespeed.
I've have tried it now at home and same problem at home with cam2pc.
At work I hade the latest driver but at home I have a old one.
Both Mouse are cordless of diffrent types. Old one at work and newer at home.

Very strange

Any thoughts? Should I report it to Logitech or? Any one else with this problem?

Cheers

Hi,

I understand correctly that uninstalling and working with the windows default drivers solved the mouse speed problem?
Yes, I think you should report this problem to Logitech. Just use their online support options.

I have got the same problem with a logitech mouse and driver, and this is the first time (excluding in some games), that I see an application making it. It seems like the mouse speed goes to default windows mouse speed.

Wahoo, writting my post gives me the answer:
there is only one parameter to change in mouse setting logitech driver's:
uncheck "desactiver l'accélération dans les jeux" (in french), probably "disable acceleration in games" (in english) in "mouvement" setting.

So it seems like Cam2PC works like a game!

Hello,

this is most probably due to the fact that cam2pc uses OpenGL for the 3D transitions. OpenGL is mostly used in games and 3D Applications.

Dear Christian,

I experienced exactly the same problem using Logitech MouseWare with the Audio Workstation Software Sequoia V8 . Using the Logitech driver supplied with Windows would be a solution but it doesn\'t allow the same functions.

A possible workaround is using Microsoft\'s Software Intellipoint 5.2 (Win XP and 2000) which you should find on the Microsoft support pages (search in Google for \"IP5_2Deu.exe\"). Intellipoint has the same features as Logitech Mouseware and even some more (for instance the possibility to store and automatically change software specific settings ). The only two restrictions I found are:
1) the LT mouse seems less sensitive as the MS mouse, I am at the limits with the speed setting.
2) you can connect the LT mouse only using the PS/2 port (which can\'t identify the device). As soon as you connect the LT mouse to USB , Windows recognizes the mouse as a Logitech mouse and automatically installs the Logitech driver from windows. As most LT mouses are delivered with an PS/2 - USB adaptor that shouldn\'t be a problem.

Arend

PS:
Fore more Information I add the comment of Sequoia\'s support (maybe it gives a hint to the cam2pc specialists):

\"We have done additional research about the current issues with Logitech
Mouse drivers in V8.
The results are as follows:
- All Logitech Mouses work alright if used with the standard Windows
functions.
- Some of the special Logitech operating features conflict with special
mouse treatment we do in Sequoia for appropriate mouse operation.

This is, among other, special double-click functions (Thumb- button, wheel-
operation) and the automatic recognition for \"Computer Games\" Logitech
offers in late versions of their drivers.

The conflicts, some of them may be persistent for quite some time by the
way, are rather minor, but unavoidable, as Sequoia needs special mouse
treatment to e.g. avoid unwanted displacement of Objects and operation of
right mouse button for special functions. As you see, this has been
implemented with good reason. These also all work with the standard
Microsoft Mouse implementation.

We are sorry that there are compatibility issues and are investigating
potential solutions, but we can not offer a deadline for this. As long it is
recommended to switch off incompatible functions during the operation of
Sequoia.\"
