Hi folks,
New to this - nice product, only...how do the other users on my XP Home machine access the product? There's nothing on the Start Menu for them. I'd appreciate some advice on how to properly configure this for different logons.
Thanks :D

Hello,
the installer should create a shortcut for every user. I will check this for next release. For the time being you can install cam2pc for every user. Install each time in the same directory it should not be a problem. All the users will share the albums.

Sharing Albums

Hmmm...is that what you intend - that different users share the same albums? I would prefer to have my own database / album and have it present in the way that I want, as opposed to my wife who will use a different selection - is that possible?
Thanks.

Then install cam2pc in a different folder for each user and it should work.

Nabocorp - Product Suggestion

Ok, in that case I'd like to make a suggestion if I may - just a small tweak....!
When a user creates an Album, simply have cam2pc create it in a suitable folder under 'My Pictures' for that user. Albums are all specific to the user then - I think it would be a nice touch to an otherwise excelent product...

Jem,
This already happens - on my system anyway! I have XP Home and each user can set up different directories and renaming styles for transferring the images from the camera. Perhaps you need to look at the user settings of XP?

...and albums?

Sure, preferences like that are held separately. But, if you create an album under one user name it is visible and available to all other users, yes? Tell me how you are configuring your cam2pc - it would be really useful.
Thanks

Hello,
for the moment the thumbnail database and the album file are both stored in the same folder as the program file. So if you install cam2pc once for each user in a dedicated folder each time then I think you should be OK.

Ah, sorry for being misleading. I had ignored the bit about albums.

Forgot to mention that all other settings are stored in the registry on a per user basis so there should be no conflict.
