Feature Request: AF Point

Postby ami26 » Sat May 01, 2004 1:16 pm

First of all I have to say, that I really enjoy working with cam2pc!

For a never version I wish me a function "Display AF Points" like in the original Canon File Viewer Utility.
All informations about the used AF points are in EXIF, so I think it must be possible to integrate such a function.
Displaying the AF points its very helpfull for me to know why some pictures are so wrong.

At the moment, this is the one and only feature I miss in the program, so I have also to use the Canon File Viewer Utility.
I wish you can fulfil my wish in the next update version. :-)

Greetings from germany... sorry, for my bad english....

I agree it would be nice if cam2pc could list/use more of the Exif information than it does. AF point (if I understand it correctly) would not be relevant to my A70 since I don't think it is recorded in the Exif, but Subject Distance would be welcome. The trouble is that such things would involve interpreting the MakerNotes fields that vary from maker to maker (obviously) and from model to model. Lots of work and code for stuff that is not central to what cam2pc is about, in my opinion.
