problem with cam2pc 4.0.2

Postby richardtang » Sat Dec 27, 2003 11:16 pm

Hi,

I've been very happy using the cam2pc registered version 4.0.2 until now, the program just close by itself while openning thumbnails of 1000+ pictures with my desktop running xp pro, and I tried and failed again with my fujitsu P5000 running xp home, just wonder if you guys have any ideas.

Thanks,

Richard

Hello,

ou have a folder with more than 1000 images in it? It may be a memory issue... Getting all these thumbnails require probably a lot of RAM. How much RAM do you have on your machine?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have 1 GB of DDR RAM in my Athlon XP3000 machine and 512 MB on the Fujitsu which I thought should be sufficient for most tasks.

Thanks,

Richard

by the way, I've tried using another program called Pic Viewer and it loads all the thumbnails and I can view the pictures just like cam2pc, but that's not the issue, I still like to use cam2pc if I can get this problem resolved.

Hi,
Just like to keep you updated, I tried everything that I know how and found out that it was because a corrupted file in the folder. So I am happy to tell you that the program is working fine now.

Thanks,

Richard

That is VERY good news. However if you still have the corrupted file I'd be glad to get it. I would like to avoid that cam2pc crashes with such a file in a folder. So if you still have it you can send it by mail: info at nabocorp.com.

No, unfortunately I deleted it already, it was one of the picture that I took with a digital camera and I have no idea why and how it got corrupted, if it happen again I certainly would send you one.

Thanks,

Richard

Hi, I had the same problem (xp prof, P4 3GHz, 1GB) with a divx avi-file (~1MB), cam2pc shuts immediately down, if this file is in the starting browser directory
