Email function in sw-version

It seems to me the (direct) email function does not work in the 4.0 'shareware' version before registering. Is this a bug (in version 3.1 it works) or by design? If the last is the case, then it would be a better idea to use the word 'crippleware' rather than 'shareware'!

no it should work the same registered or not. When you say "direct" you mean setting up a SMTP server?

SMTP indeed. Good you found the problem. Chances are great I will register by then. Cam2pc is a great product, much better than Canon's Zoombrowser and others I've seen!
