Can cam2pc Pull Files Off A Memory Card?

Postby Ardwych » Thu Feb 07, 2008 8:06 pm

Oh ooooh - I\'ve just named 120 files in 20 groupings - entering names and all - thinking I could get files - THAT c2p SAW - off an SD card.
Saw the browse window; lots of files - THEN NOTHING HAPPENED. \'Processing\', BUT NOTHING TURNED UP!

All those Selected files - all those namings - AND THEN c2p ASKED BE TO NAME THEM ALL AGAIN. ARRRRRGH.

It saw the files: camera off, SD card in computer\'s slot.
But I can\'t select a non-camera source. (\"cam2pc\")
But nothing happened.

What gives??
Totally confussed. :x

Told ya! That's a Vista bug!

Are you in the Image Downloader or the Browser? Try this:

Insert SD card.

Start>Programs>cma2pc>Image Downloader

In the From line, browse to your folder on your card containing the images for downloading.

Hit OK. Down they should come.

(If I'm downloading off different cameras, I go to Tools>Options and select the appropriate Camera Type).

Vista Bug?? Bet there aren\'t any..!!

Will try that - but off the top of me head I think I did - and, since it\'s called Cam2PC, it wouldn\'t look at a drive, only at devices - like cams...

But if you say so, I\'ll try agin.

BTW

BTW, is there a subtle nastiness in c2p in that it unannouncedly installs the 30-day trial product then expires into the free version?

I thought I\'d try the free, then if enticed, try the 30d trial - when I had the time and attention to do so. But it seems that I\'m having the trial foisted upon me anyway.

I may be wrong, but we\'ll see.

..somewhere I saw a reg cleaner that extracted the deep orphan entries that these processes use. Mebee I should hunt for it again.
Needs a thread..

To be honest, I don't spot any difference betwen the free and the paid versions (at least for downloading functionality).

Okay - it must be me.

I thought I'd lost the Group Naming thing in an earlier trial on another box.
(..If I can get that function to appear consistent, and renaming logical..)
(I'm hand-renaming with Total Commander at the moment; bit of a pain..)
