this may sound silly:
by mischief i deleted some more images as intended from the thumbnails view in cam2pc,
then I could not find a command \'undelete\' or \'undo\' or so,
and the images did not show up in the trashtray ...

Thank you in advance for any hint!

In general, when files are deleted, they are not really erased from the hard disk but only unindexed in the file allocation table.

In windows XP, there is the "recover" command to be used in Command Line (MS-DOS), but you have to remember the exact name of the file.
There is also a lot of different tools to recover data from crashed hard disk.
Some examples :
- R-Undelete
- Ontrac EasyRecovery
- R-Studio (the best (but not free) for me because it help me to recover twice more than 100 Gb on a hard-disk which FAT crashed)

Good luck ;-)

Normally, all deleted images should show up in the recycle bin. If not, it could be a network drive or USB-Stick, for which Windows doesn't provide a recycle bin.
