Nikon D200 RAW Images - Advice Pls...

Hi,

I have a problem with Nikon RAW images, specifically Nikon .nef format images from a D200 DSLR.

Thumbnails and preview seems to be OK. When I double click to take me into full screen I sometimes get a perfect image, but more often than not the picture is just noise (predominantly purple!). This only happens with RAW, JPEG is fine, and the RAW images display perfectly in the Nikon editing software. Nikon themselves tell me I have no graphics card / PC related issues with this and suggested I come here for advice.

Many Thanks...I hope...!

There was an update (version 4.5.3) posted to a thread here that corrected the NEF display for the D70s. I wonder if it also fixes your problem.

I should have said...I am using 4.5.3 - and no, it doesn't.

Thanks for the thought...

It doesn't really fix it for the D70s either ... still occasionally get random noise instead of a picture. If you then click on the same file again it's Ok ... totally random.

I'm seeing this also with D70 (non-s) files that worked fine before the update.
