I would like to controll cam2pc from another application, e.g. by command line, windows messaging, scripting, or whatever.

When called from my application, I want cam2pc "silently" (no additional prompts) to download my pics from my camera according to the settings for directory creation and file renaming.

Is this possible?

yes this is feasible. You have to check the Auto download box in the Misc options. Then call cam2pc with:

cam2pc /transfer <directory to transfer from>

This should work.
