Subfolders not created when using FTP upload

I am delighted by this piece of software!
However, I just repeatedly tried to use the "upload to FTP" function for albums and despite giving server-root and folder (and no errors while uploading) all the files appear in the same folder (no subfolders for images, pages, props, thumbs...)
Any suggestions? Thanks.
